TERMS AND CONDITIONS – CREDIT SUISSE IT CHALLENGE
NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER THE PROMOTIONThese are the rules ("Rules") that apply to the Credit Suisse IT Challenge hosted at http://itchallenge.credit-suisse.com (the "Promotion") which will run between 12:01 a.m. Greenwich Mean Time ("GMT") Monday 1 September 2014 and close at 11:59 p.m. (GMT) Friday 31st October 2014 ("Promotion Period").
By entering the Promotion, you agree to accept and be bound by these Rules and by all decisions of Credit Suisse, which will be final.
The Promotion is open to all current University students who are (as at the last day of the Promotion Period): aged 18 or over, lawfully residing and studying in Great Britain, and enrolled on a full time course at any University which is based in Great Britain.
Proof of age, enrolment and current attendance at your University may be required.Employees (or family members of employees) of any group company of Credit Suisse, Student Competitions AB (trading as StudentCompetitions.com), companies associated with the Promotion and all affiliates of such companies may enter this Promotion but not be eligible for prizes.
Entering the Promotion
In order to enter the Promotion:
- go to http://itchallenge.credit-suisse.com
- complete all sections of questions, comprising:
- 15 multiple choice questions about Credit Suisse
- 20 multiple choice and free text questions to test your IT knowledge
- 2 essay questions (to be selected from a choice of 6 questions).
- to be eligible for a prize, make sure you follow the instructions and complete all questions.
- • [at the end of the questions,] fill in your first name, last name (surname), birth year, nationality, university name, graduation date, and your University email address (requires a valid and current '.ac.uk' email address)
- click 'submit'.
At the end of the Promotion Period, winners will be selected from all complete and eligible entries received before 11.59 p.m. (GMT) on the last day of the Promotion Period. Winners will be the entrants which, in the opinion and sole discretion of the judges [e.g. demonstrate x, y and z].
There will be seven winners chosen by the judges in total, including four “runners up”, who will win the Prizes detailed below.
All winners will be notified on or around Friday 28th November 2014 using the contact details submitted as part of the entry process. If any winner is not able, for any reason, to accept a prize, or cannot be contacted within 28 days of the end of the Promotion Period, the Promoter reserves the right to award that prize to another entrant.
- First Prize: one iPad Air (16 GB) Wi-Fi Only
- Second Prize: £250 Amazon voucher
- Third Prize: £150 Amazon voucher
- Runners up: 4 x £50 Amazon voucher (one voucher per runner up).

There is no cash alternative to the prizes (or any part of them) and unless agreed otherwise in writing the prizes are non-refundable and non-transferable. However, Credit Suisse reserves the right to substitute any prize with a prize of equal or greater value or a cash alternative at any time and for any reason, (for example, but without limitation, if any prize is no longer available).
No one will be entitled to win more than one prize. You may not enter using multiple email addresses or identities. If you attempt to do so you may be disqualified from the Promotion and future promotions run by Credit Suisse.
All entries must be submitted by an individual person in good faith, and entries must reflect the genuine, unaided effort of the entrant. Entrants must not enter on behalf of anyone else. Entries must not be sent in through agents or third parties.
If Credit Suisse has grounds to suspect any entrant or third party of cheating, deception or fraudulent or unsportsman-like conduct of any kind (including, without limitation, manipulating the promotion, choice of prize winner(s) or any entry) Credit Suisse reserves the right (in its sole discretion) to disqualify any entrant, entry or person it reasonably believes to be responsible for, or associated with, such activity. Credit Suisse further reserves the right to disqualify any individual it finds to be acting in breach of these Rules or in breach of any law.
Disqualification may affect future employment opportunities with Credit Suisse.
All decisions of Credit Suisse will be final and binding in all matters regarding the Promotion and no correspondence will be entered into.
Credit Suisse does not accept responsibility for network, computer, hardware or software failures of any kind, which may restrict or delay the sending or receipt of any entries. Incomplete entries and entries which do not comply with these terms and conditions will be disqualified and will not be counted.
Credit Suisse will not be liable for prizes (or any part of any prize) which do not reach the winners for reasons beyond its reasonable control.
Nothing in these Rules shall in any way limit or exclude (i) Credit Suisse or (ii) any third party's liability for: (a) death or personal injury arising from (i) Credit Suisse or (ii) any third party's negligence, or (b) fraud.
Cancellation, Suspension, Termination or Modification of the Promotion
Credit Suisse reserves the right to cancel, suspend, terminate or modify the Promotion if fraud, technical failures or any other factor beyond Credit Suisse's reasonable control adversely affects Credit Suisse's ability to conduct the Promotion as contemplated in these Rules. In such event, Credit Suisse reserves the right to award the prizes based upon the eligible entries received up to the time of the cancellation or modification in accordance with the processes set out under these Rules.
In particular, please note that Credit Suisse may process your personal data ourselves or through data processors who will undertake this on our behalf, including without limitation StudentCompetitions.com (in which case we will remain responsible for ensuring the data processor complies with this policy and all data protection regulations).
We will only use your personal data:
- Fairly and lawfully;
- To the extent necessary for the purposes of the Promotion, including arranging your receipt of and/or participation in /use of a prize.
- Credit Suisse will ensure that your personal data is not used if we know that it is not accurate and up to date and we will not keep it for longer than necessary.
Please note that your data may be processed outside of the EEA.
The Promotion, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it, shall be governed by and construed in accordance with English law. By entering, you irrevocably agree that the courts of England and Wales shall have exclusive jurisdiction to settle any dispute or claim that arises out of or in connection with the Promotion.
